The Adventure Begins
To care for the land is to care for the self.
Projects include:
South Shore Botanical: located at 77th and Constance this botanical garden is a community endeavor whose main goal is to display plants native to Chicago and Illinois. Nestled within a neighborhood, this garden is a space on the brink of becoming. It will take years for it to develop and become its true self. But in time it will blossom.
Woodlawn Botanical Nature Center: located at 63rd and Stony, this space is a habitat restoration project in the making. The space waited patiently for us to come and care for it. Beautiful because groups before us put a design in place that needed a fierce commitment to enhancing what was already there. We pruned, planted, dug up rocks, mowed and toiled to bring the space back to life. Birds and other animals returned and graced us with their presence. It is now a space of peace.
